Honoring the past while embracing the future
In 1971, John Edward Cavenaugh opened Cavenaugh Agri Sales. The corporation served as a wholesale seed and seed processing site for a large number of farmers in Sampson and Harnett counties. A pillar of the Plain View community, Mr. John E. Cavenaugh operated Cavenaugh Agri Sales for more than 45 years until his death in 2017.
In January 2022, grandson of John E. Cavenaugh, Neil Phillips, became owner of the property that was once home to Cavenaugh Agri Sales and began Phillips Agri Sales. While preserving the rich history of farm service, Phillips Agri Sales aims to expand its service to meet the agricultural needs of the average homeowner, small gardeners, livestock and pet owners, homesteaders, and farmers alike.
Phillips Agri Sales offers garden seed, farming chemicals, livestock feed, fertilizers, soil, mulch, rock, seasonal flowers, vegetable plants and so much more. In the store, you will find a large variety of products to include locally curated and crafted goods. Located outside are seasonal plants as well as a showcase of completely customizable barns, storage sheds, greenhouses, carports and more.

Last year I went to Phillips Agri sales to check on a shelter. I sat down with Randy and told him what I wanted and everything was a breeze. He made it simple and easy and the shelter looks great. A few weeks ago I went to him to draw me up a price for a 20x25 metal building and it was smooth as well. Randy really takes his time with you and works everything out to your likings and shows you everything on the screen. He is great to work with and you will not be disappointed. Just a good guy overall and a joy to be around.
